CORONAVIRUS COVID 19
NOTICE TO ALL RVOC MEMBERS
24TH MARCH 2020
It is clear from the latest Government statement on Coronavirus last night, 23rd March 2020, that travel to holiday accommodation is not regarded as “essential travel” and therefore the imposed movement ban applies to such travel.
It is likely that this advice will soon be put into law and anyone breaching it, could be liable for a fine of between £30 and £1000.
In responding to Government advice, the Chairman and Committee have to consider the health and wellbeing of all the staff and incoming members to the resort and have no alternative but to close the resort with effect from Saturday 28th March 2020 (week 13).
We apologise for any inconvenience that this will cause and await further Government advice as to when we will be able to reopen.
Essential travel’ Guidance
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) has updated its guidance for people planning to visit second homes or holiday premises during the coronavirus pandemic. This guidance includes the following information:
Who this guidance is for
This guidance is for people planning to visit second homes or holiday premises during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People should remain in their primary residence. Not taking these steps puts additional pressure on communities and services that are already at risk.
Please take care, stay safe and heed the government advice and we look forward to seeing you once this current crisis is over.
